Coronel detained for corruption found dead in the Dgcim

Colonel Marino José Lugo Aguilar was found dead this Wednesday, April 17. He was subjected to interrogation at the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) for events related to the corruption plot called PDVSA-Cripto.

As confirmed by the Public Ministry (MP), through his account on the social network

“Officials specialized in pathology, forensic medicine and criminology assigned to the General Directorate of Support for Criminal Investigation of the Public Ministry went to the respective detention center to carry out a reconnaissance of the site of the event, given the information of the death of a detainee,” said the PM on your post.

“At the site it was found that the deceased citizen responds to the name of Marino José Lugo Aguilar. The evidence collected by specialists preliminarily establishes that the death occurred due to hanging,” added the aforementioned institution.

According to the MP, a forensic doctor would have gone to the National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences to perform an autopsy on the former military man. This, by the way, was detained due to an arrest warrant requested in the investigation of the PDVSA-Cripto case.

“Marino Lugo would be charged with the crimes of appropriation or distraction of public assets, conspiracy to celebrate contracts, evasion of procedures, controls or restrictions in bidding; money laundering, treason and association,” highlights the MP.

Let us remember that the last arrested for the aforementioned corruption plot were the former Minister of Petroleum and president of PDVSA, Tareck El Aissami, the former head of Economy, Simón Zerpa, and the businessman Samark López.
