Ganga Library Offers Community Service Opportunities, Including Court-Ordered Fulfillment

Ganga Library, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is providing community service opportunities for individuals, including those fulfilling court or diversion program requirements. The organization, which focuses on Nobel Laureates and their work, offers both virtual and local options, with flexible hours and documentation suitable for legal proceedings.

According to the organization, letters verifying completed service have been “swiftly accepted by courts in the US.” Applicants nationwide are being accepted, and the work is tailored to individual backgrounds, interests, and hobbies. Opportunities are described as “Documentable, Ongoing, Engaging and Exciting!”

Ganga Library aims to provide more than just a means to fulfill obligations. The organization states it “kindles a fire in you, revealing to you your hidden aspirations, abilities, and skills.” One volunteer shared, “Thank you so much!!! It was refreshing to actually learn something from my community service.” Another volunteer, who was advised by an attorney to complete community service prior to a court appearance, found the research on influential figures “very informative,” stating it was something they “would not have woken up one day and just ‘decided’ to do, but I am very grateful that I did.”

Several volunteer positions are currently available. The library is seeking Biographers to write short profiles of Nobel Laureates, Writers and Journalists to create content about the laureates, Archivists to gather information and write articles, and Librarians to maintain social media and write biographical content. A Business Manager position is also open, focused on generating revenue for the library.

The organization’s work is always available, and individuals can work “X hours as ordered by court or diversion program or advised by attorney or probation officer.” Ganga Library encourages prospective volunteers to “pursue your passions” and enjoy the “easy onboarding” process.

Those interested in verifying the organization’s nonprofit status can check the IRS website. Further information and a video exploring the “Ideas & Thought Processes of Nobel Laureates” can be found on their website.

Idealist lists available times as weekdays (daytime, evenings) and weekends (daytime, evenings) with a time commitment that is flexible and a recurring schedule. The organization is seeking 100 volunteers, and applicants must be 19 or older and able to communicate clearly in spoken and written English, as well as use email.
