As the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Korea recorded 10,000 again on the 2nd, the rebound is gradually becoming clearer.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as of 00:00 on the same day, there were 1715 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 18,379,552. This is an increase of 1187 from the previous day’s 9528.

During the last week (June 26 to July 2), the daily number of new confirmed cases was 6239 → 3,423 → 9894 → 1457 → 9,955 → 9528 → 1715, an average of 8,550 per day. .

By region, the number of new confirmed cases was 2819 in Gyeonggi, 2,778 in Seoul, 611 in Busan, 576 in Gyeongnam, 525 in Incheon, 503 in Gyeongbuk, 381 in Chungnam, 369 in Daegu, 313 in Gangwon, 311 in Ulsan, and 274 in Daejeon. 274 in Jeonbuk, 265 in North Chungcheong, 243 in Jeonnam, 216 in Jeju, 164 in Gwangju, 79 in Sejong, and 14 in quarantine.

Among the new confirmed cases, 173 were imported from abroad.

The number of patients with severe severe cases was 53, down 3 from the previous day.

The death toll stood at 7, down by one from the previous day. Two people over the age of 80, three in their 70s, and one in their 60s and 50s each died. The cumulative death toll was 24,562, and the cumulative fatality rate of COVID-19 was 0.13%.
