Coviran Granada and Oviedo Seek First Win of Season in Primera FEB Clash

The Coviran Granada travels to the Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Oviedo on Oct. 3, 2026, to face the Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto in round two of the Primera FEB season at 17:30 hours, with both teams searching for their first win after opening-day defeats, fundacioncbgranada.es reported.

Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Oviedo Hosts Round Two Clash

Arturo Ruiz’s squad makes its first road trip of the campaign to Asturias missing Jonathan Rousselle and Edu Durán. Coviran Granada looks to bounce back from an opening home loss against Inveready Gipuzkoa Basket before returning to the Palacio de Deportes, according to fundacioncbgranada.es.

On the other side, Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto enters the fixture following a 108-69 defeat on the road against Gran Canaria, an opponent both Cadena SER and fundacioncbgranada.es note as a recently relegated team and a primary candidate for promotion to the ACB.

Oviedo Reshapes Roster After Opening Loss

Oviedo opened its league schedule at the Gran Canaria Arena, where a competitive start unraveled after conceding decisive second and third-quarter partials of 32-16 and 30-16, fundacioncbgranada.es reported. Patrick Smith paced the Asturias side with 17 points and a 12 valuation, supported by Sander Hollanders with 9 points, and 8 points each from Danilo Brnovic, Daniil Shelist, and Brock Wisne.

Ideal reported that Oviedo underwent significant roster reshaping following its previous campaign, managing key departures while adding guards Pjay Smith and Felix Terins alongside perimeter additions like Zaire Goodine and Sander Hollanders. Meanwhile, Coviran Granada travels with a roster under head coach Arturo Ruiz, looking to correct the flaws shown in their opening defeat.

Club Membership Reaches Record 3,806 Members

Away from the hardwood, Oviedo heads into the match backed by historic club membership figures. Federación Española de Baloncesto, Cadena SER, and rtpa.es reported that the club recently announced it has surpassed 3,800 abonados, reaching 3,806 members for the 2026/2027 season.

The club marked its official team presentation alongside primary sponsor Alimerka, which is entering its fifth season backing the organization. Pelayo Collantes, Alimerka’s head of marketing and innovation, highlighted to the media that moving to the Palacio de Deportes has allowed the brand and club to reach a broader audience following a prior season that ended in the Final Four for promotion to the ACB. Club Vice President Luis Tuero emphasized the institutional stability provided by their partnership during a press conference covered by Federación Española de Baloncesto and Cadena SER.

Referees Assigned for Oct 3 Home Debut

The refereeing trio assigned to oversee the encounter consists of Antonio Manuel Zamora, Rodrigo Palanca, and Pol Guadalajara, according to fundacioncbgranada.es. Tip-off is set for 17:30 hours on Oct. 3, 2026, at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Oviedo, where rtpa.es notes the venue expects a near-capacity crowd for the club’s home debut.

It is unclear whether Coviran Granada will secure its first victory on the road or if Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto will use its home support to reverse its opening-round struggles.
