Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs Report to Cowboys Minicamp
Updated June 10, 2025
All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs both arrived at the Dallas Cowboys’ facility Monday, ahead of the team’s mandatory minicamp. Parsons’ presence is notably noteworthy given ongoing contract talks, as he seeks a long-term deal to remain with the Cowboys.
Parsons is currently slated to play under his fifth-year option. He participated in some of the team’s organized team activities (OTAs) despite the contract situation. The NFL anticipates Parsons signing a lucrative extension, possibly making him one of the league’s highest-paid defensive players.
Diggs’ attendance is also meaningful. He needs to participate in a large percentage of the offseason program to avoid losing a $500,000 de-escalator in his contract. Diggs, recovering from January knee surgery, did not participate in OTAs and is expected to start training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
The Cowboys are banking on another stellar season from Parsons, who has recorded at least 10 sacks in each of his first four seasons. Even with missing four games last season, Parsons still managed 12 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles.
“It’s a question of when, not if, Parsons will sign his mega contract extension,”
If Parsons signs a contract extension, he could be among the NFL’s highest-paid defenders, potentially surpassing Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett.
What’s next
The Cowboys will monitor Diggs’ recovery while working towards a long-term agreement with Parsons, solidifying their defense for years to come.
