CPM State Secretary Accuses Move to Implement Uniform Civil Code as Part of Hindutva Agenda

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) State Secretary, MV Govindan, has alleged that the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code is a deliberate move by the Sangh Parivar to further their Hindutva agenda and erode India’s pluralism. Govindan emphasized that the party strongly opposes the enforcement of a single civil code.

In this context, a seminar will be organized in Kozhikode to discuss the implications of the Uniform Civil Code, announced Govindan during a media interaction in Thiruvananthapuram.

Opposition Against Uniform Civil Code Gains Momentum

In a bid to rally support against the Uniform Civil Code, Govindan urged all those who cherish India’s principles of diversity to unite. He underscored that a similar agitation will also be organized against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Govindan revealed that various organizations, including Samasta and the Muslim League, will join hands in this protest.

Strong Media Criticism Against SFI Denounced

Expressing concern over the intensifying media attack against the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), Govindan attributed such incidents to the propaganda propagated by certain bourgeois political parties. He strongly urged the media to cease making baseless allegations against the state secretary, PM Arsho.

Unwavering Commitment to Just Causes

Govindan reiterated the Communist Party’s unyielding stance against any form of wrongdoing, highlighting their firm resolution not to compromise on principles. Furthermore, he highlighted that the party’s Local Development Framework manifesto emphasizes development projects geared towards promoting higher education.

Formation of Anti-Left Front Gains Traction

To counter the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Left movement in the state, an incident management system has been established under the leadership of the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Govindan expressed concern over the posters of right-wing forces, which not only carry their messages but also use texts created by them.

CPM Leader Dismisses Allegations Against Opposition Leader

Govindan downplayed the allegations made by Shaktidharan, stating that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) does not seek to win debates through such tactics. He argued that the accusations against the opposition leader and Sudhakaran are part of an attempt to discredit them. Govindan emphasized that the people of Kerala are familiar with Sudhakaran’s background, citing numerous pending murder and attempted murder cases against him.
