Narkoçelik-38 Operations: A Nationwide Crackdown on Narcotics
Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security, Department of Anti-Narcotic Crimes, a massive operation was conducted in 50 states across the country.
The operation, code-named ”Narkoçelik-38,” involved the participation of 790 teams, 1,910 personnel, 14 aircraft, and 17 narcotic detection dogs. The operation was carried out by Provincial Police Departments in various cities, including Ankara, Gaziantep, Konya, Uşak, Izmir, Diyarbakır, Antalya, Adana, Malatya, Amasya, Şanlıurfa, İstanbul, Samsun, Bursa, Mersin, Tekirdağ, Çanakkale, Zonguldak, Kütahya, Balıkesir, Trabzon, Afyonkarahisar, Çorum, Van, Denizli, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Manisa, Bolu, Isparta, Şırnak, Kocaeli, Bartın, Karabük, Karaman, Kastamonu, Muş, Niğde, Siirt, Sivas, Tokat, and Batman.
As a result of the operations, 316 suspects were caught in Istanbul alone. Furthermore, a significant amount of narcotic substances and pills were seized, including 580 kilograms of narcotics and 121,970 narcotic pills.
