SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Creighton Bluejays men’s golf team finished third at The Savannah Intercollegiate on , marking a strong start to their spring season. The tournament, held at The Club at Savannah Harbor, saw West Georgia claim the team title with a score of 888, edging out Iona by two strokes.
Creighton, tied with Longwood at 892, demonstrated consistency throughout the three rounds, carding a 283 on Saturday followed by 299 and 310 on Sunday. The tournament was impacted by weather, with the final round ultimately concluding on Sunday after challenging conditions.
Leading the charge for the Bluejays was senior Grant Feldman, who secured a fourth-place finish with an aggregate score of 219 (70, 73, 76). This marks Feldman’s eighth career Top 5 finish and his 11th Top 10 result in 43 career events, solidifying his position as a consistent performer for Creighton.
Sophomore Gavin Gerch delivered an impressive performance, finishing sixth with a total of 220 (67, 75, 78). Gerch’s opening round of 67, remarkably achieved on his birthday, placed him atop the leaderboard early in the tournament. While he couldn’t maintain the same momentum in subsequent rounds, his performance still represented a career-best Top 10 finish.
Junior Brock Kuhlman contributed a solid showing, tying for 33rd place with a 226 (74, 75, 77). Kuhlman’s 37 pars throughout the tournament were tied for fourth-most among all competitors, highlighting his accuracy and consistency off the tee.
Junior Owen Price tied for 38th place, finishing with a score of 227 (72, 76, 79). Price began the tournament strongly with an even-par 72, demonstrating his potential for low scoring.
Sophomore Jacob Kutner rounded out the Creighton lineup, tying for 63rd place with a total of 233 (77, 77, 79).
The Savannah Intercollegiate featured a competitive field of 18 teams, including BIG EAST rival Villanova, which finished ninth with a score of 900. The tournament also saw strong performances from West Georgia’s Milton Wallin and Longwood’s Hunter Swidzinski, who shared medalist honors with a score of 215. Fairfield’s Rasmus Ditzinger finished close behind at 218.
The Club at Savannah Harbor, a par-72 course measuring 7,131 yards, provided a challenging test for the competitors. The course demanded precision and strategic play, with the variable weather conditions adding another layer of complexity.
