Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior has launched an online service to provide criminal status reports in the country. Available through the one-stop ‘Sahal’ application for government services. Officials said the criminal status issue would be accompanied by a QR security code that would ensure authenticity outside the country.
The Criminal Evidence Division, with the assistance of the Information Systems Department of the Ministry of the Interior, facilitates the issuance of criminal status reports to individuals. Criminal status is issued online with a special QR security code to ensure authenticity. The authenticity of these can be verified from inside and outside the country.
The criminal status report is a document similar to the local police clearance certificate. The move comes on the instructions of Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the first deputy prime minister and interior minister, according to the Interior Ministry’s public relations department.
The service, which is part of the government’s decision to expand e-governance, will save the time and effort of citizens and residents, making it easier to complete transactions, officials said.
