Cristóvão Carvalho: Vieira Withdrawal Harms Benfica

Benfica presidential candidate Cristóvão Carvalho anticipates that Luís Filipe Vieira will⁢ withdraw⁤ his candidacy for the October 25th elections. Carvalho argues that Vieira’s continued candidacy would ultimately be detrimental to the club, emphasizing the importance of credibility within Benfica’s structure.

He stated that ongoing legal and technical issues surrounding Vieira make⁣ it highly improbable that his candidacy will proceed. Carvalho ⁣also positions Vieira’s platform as one of continuity with an ⁣outdated model, suggesting it has run its course, drawing parallels with Rui Costa’s ⁣approach.
