Rumors link two Colombian players to cruz Azul. Sebastián Villa and Miguel Borja both appeared as potential signings for the club during the Clausura 2026 transfer window.
Cruz Azul has already dismissed interest in Borja. He spent a month in mexico City, but the club’s management didn’t offer a firm answer, frustrating the former River Plate player. He will now sign with a team in the Middle East. Read more about Borja’s situation here.
Villa’s potential transfer never progressed beyond initial contact. Though, a recent growth could change that. Independiente de Rivadavia has now set a price for Villa, and it’s lower than the previously reported $14 million.
“Sebastián Villa and Independiente de Rivadavia have reached an agreement. His transfer is worth $6 million USD.The agreement takes effect on July 1st. If an offer arrives for that amount, the club will be obligated to sell the Colombian forward,” explained journalist Germán García Grova on social media.
