HAVANA (AP) — Teh U.S. dollar continues to strengthen against the Cuban peso on Cuba’s informal exchange market. As of Friday, the dollar reached 369 Cuban pesos.
Dollar Surges Past Previous Day’s Rate
The value of the U.S.dollar has increased compared to the previous day’s informal exchange rate. The euro, while remaining relatively stable, is valued higher than the dollar at 385 Cuban pesos. The euro remains a preferred currency for remittances and cash transactions on the island.
MLC Remains Steady
The Freely Convertible Currency (MLC),used in state-run stores,holds steady at 265 Cuban pesos.
