Cycling: here are the details on the International Tour of Benin

April 30, 2024, the Benin Cycling Tour starts. Details of the international cycling competition were revealed on Tuesday April 23 in Cotonou.

It is an international cycling competition that Benin organizes. This year, the Tour is in its 19th edition. 90 runners from 15 teams are expected at the starting line to cover a total of 646.470 km through several towns in Benin.

They come from 14 different countries, namely Algeria, Germany, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, France, Guan, Mauritius, Mali, Morocco , Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Togo.

According to the president of the Beninese Cycling Federation, Romuald Hazoumè, the cycling competition takes place from April 30 to May 4, 2024 in five stages:

Boukoumbe-Djougou (125,800 km), Parakou-Savè (156,420 km), Djidja-Athieme (113,800 km), Ouinhi-Porto-Novo (97,170 km), Agbangnizoun-Cotonou (154,280 km).

Added to all this is the Cotonou grand prix (104 km in 10 laps). This award will be registered, from next year, with the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Innovations

For this edition, the organizing committee brought innovations to the Benin International Cycling Tour. Romuald Hazoumè announced the presence of the legends of the Cheetahs of Benin at this international event. The Tour will also be broadcast live on ORTB and A+ Benin.
