Cyndi Lauper confronted a heckler during her Las Vegas residency debut, responding with a sharp, expletive-laced retort that drew cheers from the audience.
The incident occurred on Friday, April 25, 2026, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Lauper launched her limited engagement “Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas,” running through May 2.
While introducing her song “Sally’s Pigeons,” Lauper was interrupted by an audience member. She responded directly, saying, “I don’t know what the fuck you’re saying, hon,” before adding, “But please remember where you are, OK? Because if you’re trying to shade me, bitch, I’m gonna come for you.”
Lauper emphasized her roots, stating, “I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna fucking talk, I will do a tap dance if I fucking want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills.”
The moment was captured on video and quickly circulated online, drawing reactions from fans and media outlets. Variety reported that Lauper “didn’t hold back” and that her response “quickly drew cheers from the crowd.”
The Las Vegas residency marks Lauper’s first-ever engagement in the city, following the conclusion of her 69-show “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” Farewell Tour, which ended in August 2025.
Lauper had previously announced the residency in October 2025, joking on Instagram that Las Vegas would be renamed “Cyn City” for the duration of her show.
Her performance in Las Vegas comes amid continued public interest in her career, including recent recognition as part of broader conversations about influential musicians and live performances.
