Karolina Muchova and Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova delivered the decisive victories in the singles rubbers to capture the nation’s first trophy in the premier international women’s team competition since 2018.

Wimbledon runner-up Karolina Muchova opened the final tie by defeating Anhelina Kalinina 6-2, 6-3 in a 70-minute contest. Muchova relied on a dominant serving performance, firing eight aces and winning 86% of her points behind her first serve without facing a break point, converting four of five break opportunities. Following Muchova’s win, Linda Noskova faced world number seven Elina Svitolina in the second singles rubber. The 21-year-old Noskova overcame a stern challenge, striking 10 aces and holding firm in a tense second set to secure a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory in one hour and 33 minutes. The two straight-sets wins rendered the scheduled doubles rubber unnecessary, where 12-time Grand Slam women’s doubles champion Katerina Siniakova and Marie Bouzkova had been named to play.

The competition shortened its name to the Fed Cup in 1995 with the introduction of home-and-away ties, before rebranding as the Billie Jean King Cup in 2020 to honor Billie Jean King, who won the event seven times as a player and four times as captain, including once as player-captain, alongside a restructuring around a central Finals event.
