[D:인터뷰] ‘Kiss Six Sense’ Yoon Kye-sang, ‘Melo’ found again

“Looking at the script, I think I got it wrong… I wondered if a ‘hot’ person in their early 30s had to do it, so I asked.”

“It was nice to be able to show you a fresh feeling once more… I think we played well without a circle.”

From the movie ‘Crime City’ to the drama ‘Crime Puzzle’. Actor Yoon Kye-sang, who recently showed a strong appearance in genre films, showed melodic sensibility through ‘Kiss Six Sense’. Of course, it’s not that I haven’t acted in romance in the past, but I also felt a sense of pressure and embarrassment at the sweet acting that I’ve been performing for a long time. However, it is Yoon Kye-sang who still shows a side full of excitement and proves that ‘melo sensibility’ is still sufficient.

The recently ended Disney+ original drama ‘Kiss Six Sense’ is a melodrama depicting the dizzying romance between an art (Ji-Hye Seo) who can see the future just by touching her lips and Min-Hoo (Yoon Kye-Sang), a super sensitive man. In this drama, Yoon Kye-sang played the role of Min-hoo, who is a hard-nosed advertising company team leader and has overdeveloped five senses such as sight, hearing, and touch.

At one time, he met viewers as the protagonist of a sweet romance drama, but recently it was Yoon Kye-sang, who focused on genres. Yoon Kye-sang, who played the powerful villain Jang Chen in ‘Crime City’ and Han Seung-min, a criminal psychologist who confessed to murder in ‘Crime Puzzle’, was both surprised and delighted by the offer to appear in a melodrama.

“The CEO of the agency told me that something miraculous happened while he was doing the ‘Crime Puzzle’. Romance has come. it was so fresh When I read the script, I thought it was wrong. I thought that a ‘hot’ person in their early 30s should do it. So I hurriedly asked.”

Yoon Kye-sang, who even shaved his head in ‘Crime Puzzle’, was the first to think about the visual. As it is a work that induces excitement through the perfect man Min-hoo, he wanted to meet viewers with a more perfect visual. Together with veterans who are powerful enough to be described as “the best staff,” Minhoo of ‘Kiss Six Sense’ was created together.

“I started filming as soon as I finished ‘Crime Puzzle’, but I’m sorry that I did it with my face a little dry. I used to use my body a lot, so I looked a little old. I was worried that it would affect the work. The team was made up of the best staff. I asked people who only did pictorials to come. I also paid attention to the wig. The character was so cool. I thought it should be plausible. The managers also put in a lot of effort to recruit a lot of good people.”

It was also important to naturally act in a fantasy setting where people feel sensations several dozen times more sensitively than normal people. Yoon Kye-sang naturally expresses Min-hoo’s superpowers, but without overdoing it. I had to think over and over again to find an expression that would fit Disney+.

“I thought a little about how it would feel if the five senses were specially developed. As an actor, I wanted to try a character with superpowers like Marvel. I thought it was something similar. It was a romance dealing with superpowers, but nevertheless, I tried to exude such ‘energy’. I tried to express the settings that can only be seen in Hollywood without burdening them. I relaxed it a bit without being too sensitive. It was necessary to do something like ‘Disney’. There may be difficult parts (because of their sensitive senses), but the positive parts are emphasized. So I tried to play in a fun way.”

He also tried to work comfortably with his partner, Seo Ji-hye. It was her second meeting with Seo Ji-hye, but nevertheless, she talked a lot and shared opinions, which doubled her comfort. Thanks to this process, the process of two different men and women fighting each other and growing in love could feel sweeter.

“Working with (Seo Ji-hye) was really good. Seo Ji-hye was 22 years old, she was with her at the time. Seo Ji-hye was a rookie at the time, and she was the first time I did her acting. she was so fresh She was a shy friend in my memory, but she worked hard. She reunited with such a friend, and it was so wonderful. She was very helpful at first. You’re really good at comedy. There were conversations and things that only older people could do. I was able to play well and comfortably in such a setting that would have been unfamiliar if I was young.”

It was even more meaningful because it seemed to show the charm of when I was young again through these appearances. Yoon Kye-sang, who prepared Min-hoo by watching the drama ‘The Good Wife’ and even the past videos, was satisfied because it seemed to have reproduced the past, which was more energetic and pleasant, through ‘Kiss Six Sense’.

“Still, it was nice to be able to show you something fresh once more. There must be certain charms that I have, but I thought it was a work that could maximize that charm. lots of fun It was nice to be able to show Yoon Kye-sang as a child once more. I think we played well without a circle.”
