Dairygold Raises October Milk Price to 49c/L Amid Strong Market Returns

Dairygold Increases Milk Price for October Supplies
Dairygold has announced a milk price increase for October supplies. The new price is 49c/L, which is an increase of 1c/L from September. This price is based on standard milk constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, including sustainability and quality bonuses as well as VAT.

According to EU standards with 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the quoted price for October is 53.4c/L, also inclusive of VAT.
A Dairygold spokesperson stated that dairy market returns remained positive throughout October. The gains were mainly driven by strong butter and cheese sales, alongside flat annual global milk supply. The Dairygold board will monitor markets closely and review milk prices monthly.
Other Milk Price Increases
Lakeland Dairies has also raised its milk price for October. The base price is now 49.6c/L in the Republic of Ireland, based on 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein. This includes a 0.5c/L Sustainability Incentive Payment.
In Northern Ireland, the base price for October is 40.8p/L, which is an increase of 0.5p/L from September, also including the 0.5p/L Sustainability Incentive Payment.
Kerry Dairy Ireland has confirmed a milk price of 48.5c/L for September. This price includes VAT and is based on constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat. This increase marks a rise from 47.75c/L in August and 44c/L in July. For EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, this price translates to 62.82c/L.
