Exhibits and Interactive Mystery Features
The exhibition commemorates 15 years of the game series by tracing titles from Trigger Happy Havoc through Goodbye Despair Academy, Another Episode, and New V3. Visitors encounter setting materials, illustrations, concept art, background art, a character greeting featuring Monokuma’s newly recorded voice, and an assembly of over 60 characters welcoming attendees. A dedicated zone showcases punishment footage and associated items alongside a hidden Mystery Room. The organizers note that the displays contain spoilers for players who have not finished the games.
An in-person puzzle activity titled Desperation, Despair, Hope, Resistance requires a separate 2,000-yen ticket and a smartphone or tablet equipped with internet access and the LINE app in Japanese. Participants follow clues left by senior investigators to foil Monokuma’s plan. YTE Co., Ltd. planned and produced the activity, which takes roughly 30 to 90 minutes. Organizers warn that late arrivals near the 4:00 p.m. cutoff may not finish before closing.
