Davis​ Cup Finals: Top Eight Teams Decided

The group ⁤stage of​ the Davis Cup‍ Finals, a men’s tennis international team competition, concluded on the 15th, with the top eight teams advancing to the knockout stage.

Group Stage Recap

The 16 teams competing⁢ in the ⁤Finals were split into four groups of four, with the top two teams from ‍each group ‍advancing to the Final Eight knockout​ stage, which begins‍ on November 19th. The group stage was held in four cities:‍ Bologna (Italy), Valencia (Spain), Zhuhai ‌(China), and Manchester (England). All matches were played on indoor hard courts, with ‌winners decided in two ⁣singles matches and one doubles match.

Group⁢ A: ​Italy and Netherlands Advance

In Group A, held in Bologna, Italy, the Italian team, led by Matteo Berrettini, came in first, and the Netherlands,‌ led by Botic van de Zandschulp, came in second, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Group B: Spain and Australia Advance

In Group ⁣B, held in Valencia, ⁣Spain, the Spanish ⁤team, led by Carlos Alcaraz,⁢ came in first, and Australia, led by Alexei Popyrin, came in​ second, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Group C: USA and Germany Advance

In Group C,‌ held in Zhuhai, the United States, led by Taylor Fritz, advanced to the top of the group. Germany, led by Jan-Lennard Struff, advanced‌ to the next round in second place.

Group D: Canada and Argentina Advance

In Group D, held in ⁣Manchester,⁢ the Canadian team, led by Felix Auger-Aliassime, came in first, while Argentina, ⁢led by Sebastian Baez, came in second, and advanced to the quarterfinals. Great Britain, hosting the‍ tournament at home, came in third,‌ missing out on a place in ‍the quarterfinals.
