National Guard deployed Amid Protests Against trump’s Agenda
Updated June 14,2025
Across the nation, demonstrations are expected as part of “No Kings” mobilizations against President Trump’s agenda. These protests coincide with the U.S. Army’s 250th-anniversary military parade in Washington, D.C., which also falls on Trump’s 79th birthday.

While most demonstrations have been peaceful, some protesters have clashed with law enforcement, setting vehicles on fire adn defacing buildings. Authorities have made numerous arrests nationwide.
Trump activated the California National Guard against the wishes of Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and also sent Marines to Los Angeles. The first contingent of 700 Marines arrived Friday. They are tasked with protecting federal buildings, equipped with shields and batons but without arrest powers.
In Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered National Guard troops to San Antonio and Austin in anticipation of protests. Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe activated that state’s National Guard as a “precautionary measure.”
Kehoe said in a statement that Missouri respects the right to peacefully protest but will not tolerate violence or lawlessness.
Trump said in a video posted on Instagram earlier this month, “We will celebrate a spectacular military parade in Washington, D.C., like no other.”
