Vietnam Closely Monitoring Middle East Situation, Calls for Restraint
Vietnamese citizens in Israel, Lebanon, and Iran are reported to be safe and stable amidst recent developments in the region.
At a regular press conference held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 19, the press inquired about Vietnam’s stance on the recent series of explosions targeting communication equipment in Lebanon.
Pham Thu Hang, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, stated that Vietnam is closely monitoring the situation and urging relevant parties in the Middle East to exercise restraint and end conflicts.
Vietnam is deeply concerned about the recent developments in the Middle East region and is closely following the situation.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, end conflicts, increase dialogue, resolve disagreements by peaceful means, comply with international law and the United Nations Charter, for the benefit of the people, for peace and stability in the region and the world.
According to information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Egypt (also responsible for Lebanon), Iran, and Israel, the situation of Vietnamese citizens in these areas remains safe and stable.
The representative agencies in Egypt (also responsible for Lebanon), Iran, and Israel continue to closely coordinate with local authorities to monitor developments, proactively develop and deploy citizen protection plans, including plans to evacuate citizens from dangerous areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Vietnamese citizens in these countries regularly monitor information from local authorities, warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to respond promptly.
