A Ukrainian drone, known as ‌the “Hornet Queen,” has been spotted with a rifle attachment, sparking fear among Russian soldiers on⁤ the ⁤front line.

Drone‌ Developed in ​Ukraine

A video on social media shows the “Hornet Queen” in operation in Donetsk, equipped with ⁢a rifle, likely an AK-74.‍ The drone has already ‌targeted Russian soldiers, according to the “Hornet Group,” a group of volunteers who build drones⁢ for the ⁢Ukrainian ⁢military.

Combat Mission

The “Hornet Group” ‍explained that the⁢ drone’s‍ first combat mission was carried out against​ Russian forces. The footage shows a rifle barrel in front of a camera attached to the drone, firing repeatedly.

Technical ⁣Challenges

A⁣ drone‍ expert told⁣ the Kyiv Post that the ‍device’s ability to ⁤fire ‌accurately is a significant‌ challenge, requiring​ additional aiming devices ⁢and dealing with limited‌ ammunition.‌ The recoil’s impact on the drone’s ‌trajectory is also a concern.

Drone Development

The⁣ “Wild Hornets” group‍ developed the drone, which contains 65% Ukrainian‍ components, at the request​ of​ the K-2 battalion commander. The drone can carry up‍ to 9.5 kilograms and has various functions,‌ including mine detection‌ and signal amplification.

Combat Use

According to the ⁣Kyiv Post, 100 of the drones are already being used for combat, with⁤ a new⁣ version soon to be able to carry a weight of up to‍ 18 kilograms.
