Debrecen Mayor László Papp and his deputy condemned an attack on volunteers for the Tisza Party that occurred Friday in a residential area of the city. The volunteers were reportedly attacked with an axe, according to reports from Telex.
“All forms of violence, whether verbal or physical, are reprehensible! There is no place for it in public life or in private life,” Mayor Papp stated in a Facebook post. “Late this afternoon, our Tisza Party activists in Debrecen were subjected to physical threats. I strongly condemn any act that poses a threat, danger, or violence to our citizens, simply because they are engaged in political activity.”
