The Wedding Day That Never Was
On April 21, 2024, Nong Mang Por’s family had prepared for her wedding day, but things took a turn for the worse when the groom’s father, Mr. Jirasak, failed to deliver on his promise to provide a dowry of 200,000 baht in cash and 2 baht in gold.
Instead, Mr. Jirasak asked for 15 days to arrange the payment, leaving Nong Mang Por’s family with no choice but to use their life savings to cover the expenses of the wedding.
A Family’s Life Savings Gone
Nong Mang Por’s family had to pawn 3 gold baht and 80,000 baht in cash to pay for the wedding expenses, leaving them with a significant debt.

A Broken Promise and a Broken Heart
After the wedding, Mr. Jirasak failed to deliver on his promise to pay the dowry, leaving Nong Mang Por’s family with a debt of 290,000 baht.
“I feel sorry for my father and mother, who have to bear the burden of this debt,” Nong Mang Por said, tears streaming down her face.

Nong Mang Por has sought the help of lawyer Phaisan, hoping to find a way to make the groom’s family responsible for the debt.
“I want to ask the groom’s father to take responsibility for his actions,” Nong Mang Por said.

“I want to seek justice and counsel from Attorney Phaisan to help me investigate this matter and bring the wrong person to justice,” Nong Mang Por’s father, Mr. Khajon, said.
