Delhi Police Constable Kiranpal Stabbed to Death During Patrol
New Delhi: A tragic event unfolded on November 23 when Delhi Police constable Kiranpal was fatally attacked during a patrol in Govindpuri. The 28-year-old officer attempted to stop three men who were driving under the influence. He blocked their escape by positioning his bike in front of their scooter and took their keys.
However, the situation escalated when the men attacked Kiranpal, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing the scene. Colleagues found him unconscious and severely injured. Despite immediate medical attention, he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The police quickly launched a manhunt to locate the assailants. Two suspects, Deepak and Krish, were tracked down the following day in Kalkaji. When approached by the police, Deepak fired a weapon but was shot in the leg during the exchange and was subsequently arrested along with Krish.
The third suspect, identified as Raghav alias Rocky, remained at large. A special police team tracked him to Sangam Vihar late on Saturday night. When officers called for his surrender, Raghav opened fire with a .32 bore pistol. The police returned fire in self-defense, injuring him. Raghav received medical care, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The police recovered Raghav’s loaded pistol, and thankfully, no officers were harmed during the confrontation.
This incident highlights the dangers faced by police officers in the line of duty. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on ensuring justice for Constable Kiranpal.
