For six years, beginning in 2016, the comedian created increasingly elaborate tributes to Earth, Wind & Fire’s song ”September,” amassing millions of views. However, the annual tradition became a source of unexpected stress. The comedian now admits to feeling anxiety whenever the song plays.
“I do feel stressed whenever I hear September, but I try to ignore it,” the comedian saeid. “A few years ago, before the last video came out, I had a panic attack at a Home Depot simply by imagining that it came on.” The comedian added that this prompted the decision to end the series, despite the initial fun of the idea.
The comedian also recounted a cringeworthy celebrity encounter with Charli XCX at a festival a decade ago. Mistakenly believing Charli XCX had already performed, the comedian approached her to mention their shared birthday. However, Charli XCX had not yet taken the stage due to technical difficulties. The comedian said the moment still haunts them.
Among the comedian’s musical parodies, the Childish Gambino rap “L-A-N-D-O,” a Star Wars-themed spoof, and the Lana Del Rey parody stand out as favorites. The comedian enjoys inhabiting the personas of the artists they parody, focusing on creating convincing imitations rather than outright mockery.
When asked about the most effort put into a joke that went unappreciated, the comedian cited a fake children’s book retelling the “Fast and the furious” films. Despite commissioning illustrations and posting it on Medium, the project failed to gain traction.
On a more serious note, the comedian defended superhero films, arguing that while they may not all be masterpieces, they are essential for the survival of movie theaters. These blockbusters draw large audiences, allowing smaller, independent films to also find a place on the big screen.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Elliott Gould and Don Cheadle in Ocean’s Eleven.
“I was 23 or 24 and working in my first writers room, on The Good Place… someone eventually gave me the advice that if you’re going to point out a problem, try and point out a solution too.”
What’s next
The comedian plans to continue creating musical parodies and exploring new comedic avenues, while also advocating for the importance of diverse film offerings in theaters.
