The U.S. Department of the Treasury has imposed additional sanctions on North Korean nationals and Russian entities in response to North Korea’s recent ballistic missile launch. Foreign ministers from the United States, South Korea and Japan said they regretted the failure of the UN Security Council to adopt a new resolution on North Korea and that they would strengthen trilateral cooperation as well as coordination with the international community. The Pentagon said that if North Korea continues to cause instability, it will find a way to respond appropriately from a military point of view.
