Desperate Hunt for Stolen Goods: Police Scour Scene of Brutal Knife Attack
Solingen Knife Attack: Police Search for Key Items Three Weeks After Incident
Three weeks after the terrorist knife attack in Solingen, investigators are publicly searching for a smartphone and a wristwatch.
The police have posted images of the items on the NRW police search portal with information in several languages, seeking the public’s assistance in locating them. The items in question are a Samsung brand mobile phone and an analog wristwatch.
According to the police, the mobile phone was left in a potentially damaged condition in Solingen-Mitte on August 23, 2024, or August 24, 2024. The authorities are urging anyone who may have found the phone to come forward with information.
In a recent development, the police in Solingen searched a green area near a bus stop on Wednesday. The suspect, 26-year-old Syrian man Issa al-Hassan, is believed to have boarded a bus at the bus stop on the night of the attack and driven off.
The attack in Solingen on the night of August 23rd resulted in the deaths of three people, with eight others injured. The Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack. Issa al-Hassan is currently in custody on suspicion of murder.
Investigations have revealed that the authorities have discovered a mobile phone allegedly belonging to Issa al-Hassan. The Chinese-made device was found in a meadow near the scene of the crime. However, a phone previously found in a storm drain, along with a tablet, does not appear to have come from Issa al-Hassan.
