German networking specialist devolo launched its new WiFi 7 BE6500 mesh system in May 2026 across Europe and the UK, competing directly with multi-band routers by offering high transmission speeds starting at £249.99/€269.90 for a two-pack, according to TechRadar reporting. The hardware relies on dual-band flexibility and standard-setting channel widths to deliver high-speed wireless coverage for homes that need robust network expansion beyond a conventional single router. The devolo WiFi 7 BE6500 can achieve WiFi transmission speeds of up to 6,500 Mbps, while the devolo WiFi 7 BE9300 featuring Tri-Band technology even reaches a maximum of 9,300 Mbps.
Hardware Pricing And Regional Availability
Devolo released the WiFi 7 Mesh BE6500 in May 2026 with distribution spanning the UK and European markets, though the company currently does not operate in the US, TechRadar reported. The hardware is sold in a two-pack configuration for £249.99/€269.90 intended for small-to-medium residences, while a three-pack option designed for larger homes costs £369.99/€399.90. Individual expansion routers can be purchased separately for £129.99/€149.90 each, positioning the kit competitively against alternative dual-band WiFi 7 offerings from competing brands such as Amazon and Netgear.
Dual Band Flexibility And Transmission Speeds
The system keeps retail costs down by utilizing dual-band WiFi 7 rather than expensive high-end tri-band architecture, yet provides users with a choice of frequency bands, TechRadar noted. Buyers can operate the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz bands together to maintain compatibility with legacy WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 hardware, or alternatively switch to the 2.4GHz and faster 6.0GHz bands to accommodate newer mobile devices and computers. Devolo models utilize channel widths up to 320 MHz across 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequencies, achieving maximum transmission speeds of up to 6,500 Mbps. The devolo models support modern mesh functions such as Access Point Steering, Band Steering, bidirectional Multi-User MIMO, and OFDMA.
Physical Ports And Setup Procedures
Each plain white router measures 175mm high, 118mm wide, and 72mm deep, housing four Ethernet ports on the side that include one 2.5Gbps port for broadband connections and three 1Gb ports for wired local connections, TechRadar reported. While configuring the primary Controller router is straightforward via the devolo Home Network app and a QR code scan, setting up extension units requires connecting them near the controller one at a time during the pairing process.
