Dubai invests 216 Million Dirhams to Enhance Water Network Reliability
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has committed 216 million dirhams to a critical infrastructure project designed to considerably improve the efficiency and reliability of Dubai’s water transmission networks. This strategic investment addresses growing demand and ensures a consistent water supply across the emirate.
The project encompasses the complete lifecycle of new pipeline infrastructure – from supply and installation to rigorous testing and operational handover. The new pipelines will be constructed from reinforced glass in varying diameters and deployed across multiple locations within Dubai, supporting a broad range of network upgrades.
A key component of the initiative involves the installation of a 7.1-kilometer main water transmission line. Furthermore, 20 connection points will be established to seamlessly integrate transmission and distribution networks, directly contributing to increased water flow and pressure in diverse areas of Dubai. This interconnected approach is vital for maintaining consistent service during peak demand.
DEWA is also integrating advanced technologies into its service development, aligning with its ”Sustainability 1.5″ approach and leveraging the power of artificial intelligence. this commitment to innovation, as highlighted by DEWA’s Chief Innovation Officer in a recent interview, underscores a forward-thinking strategy for resource management as reported by CNBC Arabia.
The project is slated for completion within 24 months, meaning residents and businesses can anticipate the benefits of this enhanced infrastructure by late 2025. This timeline demonstrates DEWA’s commitment to swift and effective infrastructure improvements.
