Diablo 4 Season 3: A Look into the New Content and Expectations

The third season of “Diablo 4” started at 3 am on the 24th. Expectations for this season were also very high because last season showed much better gameplay than when it was released. When various contents were announced, I entered the sanctuary with high expectations.

This season tells the story of Zoltun Kulle’s ancient device, the “Spinning Wheel”, who is awakened by the power of hell and faces a frenzied mechanical creature. New season content “Underground Hall”, “Steward’s Companion” and “Cruel” have been added to fit the theme of the season, further enhancing the level of completeness.

The main content in the first part is the “Underground Hall”. It has a similar structure to the end-game content “Nightmare Dungeon”. Unlike other dungeons, there are various traps placed to threaten the player, so survival is important. When completing a dungeon, equipment, control stones, and marker stones are dropped as rewards.

If it had simply been about capturing monsters and eliminating them, it would have been nothing more than Nightmare Dungeon Mk.2, but the dungeon chamber provided additional rewards to motivate gameplay and encourage players to conquer the dungeon.

– When you log in with a season character, the creature’s season cutscene will play.

When you enter the underground spinning mill room, the “Zoltun Kulle Sculpture” will appear. When a Pearl of Protection is consumed through interaction, “Zoltun’s Protection” is charged 3 times. Zoltun’s protection is a kind of buff concept. The damage per stack increases by 5% and the number of charges decreases when touching a trap or dangerous object.

If you clear the dungeon while keeping as many Zoltun Guardian stacks as possible, you can consume the stacks to get additional rewards from the Guardian Node box. If it had been a normal dungeon, I would have played it roughly without paying attention to traps or impact conditions, but I naturally immersed myself in the strategy to gain additional rewards.

“Steward Companion,” a seasonal farming item, was reminiscent of the mercenary nostalgia felt in Diablo 2. However, I didn’t feel the fantastic combat or leveling speed of last season.

– Steward companions are the core of the build

The vampire’s power, which was a development element in Season of Blood, was a way to strengthen the character himself. A faster paced battle was possible, such as directly dealing damage, applying debuffs, or receiving boosts to attack speed and movement speed. On the other hand, steward companions are not very useful in battle at low levels.

Since there were few control stones and instruction stones acquired, there was a lack of means to customize the steward’s companions, and the attack effects were so poor as to be practically non-existent. However, when adding end-game content in the future, it seemed possible to research various builds using steward companions.

For example, among the dominant stones, “Adrenaline Explosion” has the effect of quickly injecting adrenaline into the player and increasing damage for 8 seconds. Here, I plan to customize it in various ways by increasing the efficiency of the technology supported by the unique “Changsi” slope indicator by 150%.

– New boss “Malpha”

Last season the reporter mainly trained necromancers and druids. This season I plan to train as an elementalist and play the Meteorfall build. Once we have sufficiently trained the elementalists, we intend to train the barbarians as well.

If last season was a phase of reflection and improvement of feedback, the season of Creation is a season of consolidating the established foundations and further raising the level of completion. Instead of various improvements, new training elements and content have been introduced and non-traditional skills have been updated to add diversity to the build.

The most anticipated content is “Crucible,” which is scheduled to be released mid-season. Since the goal is to get a high score using various factors rather than speed, I plan to play hard to get a high score.

If you are a user who was disappointed with Diablo 4 or who enjoyed playing Season 2, we recommend that you try playing Diablo 4 again, which will change during the Season of Creation.
