Diamond Certified Rappers: The Elite List

Hip-hop artists have achieved a significant milestone in music history with multiple tracks and albums reaching diamond certification, signifying sales of over 10 million units in the United States according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Drake leads the pack with 15 diamond-certified releases, including his 2018 single “God’s Plan,” which was his first solo diamond certification and has since reached 16-times platinum status as of 2025. He also earned diamond status for his contributions to Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” certified in December 2020, along with “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance” from 2016.

Drake has now amassed 15 diamond releases.

Post Malone has made history as the first rapper to achieve two diamond-certified tracks. His 2019 single “Congratulations” was his first diamond certification, followed by “Sunflower” featuring Swae Lee, which reached two-times diamond status in February 2024. Post Malone now has nine tracks at the diamond level.

In 2019, Post Malone’s anthemic track “Congratulations” reached diamond certification. It was the rapper’s first diamond-certified single of his career. Post has since gone on to become the first rapper to ever nab a two-time diamond track with “Sunflower.”

Eminem holds the distinction of being a rapper with three diamond-certified songs. His Oscar-winning track “Lose Yourself” from the 8 Mile soundtrack achieved diamond status in 2018, joining an elite group of artists who have reached this milestone through solo work, features, or album sales.

Eminem also holds the unique distinction of being a rapper to have three songs that went diamond. The Detroit rhymer nabbed a diamond award for his Oscar-winning song ‘Lose Yourself,’ from his 8 Mile soundtrack, in 2018.

Other artists with multiple diamond certifications include Juicy J, T.I., OutKast, Tupac Shakur, and Jay Z, each of whom has reached diamond status for either features on songs, their own albums, or singles released during their careers.

According to data tracking the highest-certified digital singles in the United States, Drake’s “God’s Plan” ranks among the top certifications at 16-times platinum, while Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” holds 20-times platinum status. Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” remains the highest certified digital single of all time at 21-times platinum.

As of 2025, the RIAA continues to certify music based on units where 150 streams equal one unit, with diamond status requiring 10 million units. Over 80 official songs and albums by rappers have achieved this milestone without featuring on other artists’ tracks, highlighting the enduring commercial impact of hip-hop in the modern music landscape.
