Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich player, reinforced the possibility of his move to Real Madrid after the statement he made following the Champions League semi-final match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, which ended with the Royal team narrowly winning by two goals to one.
Davies started the match from the bench, but he replaced the injured Serge Gnabry in the 27th minute of the first half, playing the left wing role in front of Moroccan full-back Noussair Mazraoui.
The Canadian international player was able to score the lead goal with a missile shot after dodging the defender in the 68th minute.
As time passed, it seemed that Davies had settled the confrontation by scoring this missile goal, before the other substitute, Joselu, turned the score around by scoring two consecutive goals within 3 minutes to take Real Madrid through to the Wembley final.
The 23-year-old Davies has been linked with a move to Madrid as he approaches the final year of his contract in Germany, with Ancelotti unconvinced by Ferland Mendy and even new arrival Fran Garcia.
When asked about his plans for the future, Alphonso Davies replied: “Will I play here at the Bernabeu next? Right now, my agent is talking to Bayern, and whatever happens, I am very grateful to Bayern.”
Barcelona, as well as a number of clubs in England, are monitoring Davies’ situation, but they are expected to be disappointed – Spain is his preferred destination with a new challenge.
