Juror Dismissed in Diddy Sex Trafficking Trial ⁤Over Residency concerns

Updated June 16, 2025

A juror ⁣in ⁤the sean “Diddy” Combs sex ⁣trafficking trial⁤ has been dismissed after providing conflicting information about his residence. The juror initially indicated he lived in the Bronx but later told a⁣ court staffer ⁣he had moved to New Jersey with his girlfriend.

Judge Arun Subramanian, on Friday, cited “several inconsistencies” in the juror’s statements, suggesting a possible attempt to deceive the court to remain on the jury. The prosecution, led by Maurene Comey, had previously requested the juror’s⁤ dismissal, ⁤citing a “lack of candor.”

Combs’s legal team, however, opposed the dismissal.Xavier Donaldson, one of Combs’s lawyers, argued that removing a Black male⁢ juror would substantially prejudice his client. Donaldson pointed out the jury’s diversity, calling it the‍ most diverse he had seen in his⁢ career.

The⁢ dismissed juror‍ has been replaced by a ⁢57-year-old white father from Westchester.Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty⁣ to charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.

During questioning, the juror ⁤stated ⁤he‍ stayed in a Bronx apartment four to five nights a week for work and ⁣jury duty. However, he had previously mentioned living in⁣ the Bronx with his fiancé and daughter, and at one point, referenced living with‍ an aunt before omitting ‍her later.

Donaldson argued ‍that moving between New York City and New Jersey is common and that inconsistencies should ‍not ‍be equated with lying. He also stated his belief that the juror could follow⁤ instructions, adding, “I do ⁣believe he will be able to follow instructions…Juror No. 6 has been ‘awake – I can’t say they all have been awake.'”

The defense team had requested a mistrial if the juror was dismissed.

on Monday, Judge ⁣Subramanian stated, “There is nothing the⁣ juror ⁣can⁤ say at ⁤this point that⁤ can put‍ the ⁤genie back in the bottle and repair his credibility.”

The jury consists of eight⁣ men and four women, along with six alternates. The trial is⁤ currently in its sixth week.
