Hyun Joo-yeop (49), the head coach of Whimoon High School’s basketball team, was embroiled in various controversies over negligence of work.

Hankook Ilbo reported on the 13th that anonymous students and parents of Whimoon High School’s basketball team filed a petition against the current coach to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.

The petition lists various controversies that arose after Coach Hyun took office at Whimoon High School in November of last year. It contains allegations of the former coach of Whimoon High School’s poor management of the basketball team, abuse of power, illegality in the hiring process of the former coach, and allegations of preferential treatment for children.

In particular, suspicions of ‘negligence on duty’ were raised due to the fact that Coach Hyun frequently missed training and practice due to filming for broadcasts and YouTube, and even skipped practice games.

In addition, it was pointed out that the assistant coach hired by the current coach was a person who was ‘disqualified’ during the past Whimoon High School basketball team interview process.

Regarding this, Director Hyun said through the Hankook Ilbo, “It’s not true. We did not increase our broadcasting activities, and we did it after filming and work hours or on weekends.” He added, “I did not hear why the coach (who I appointed) failed the interview.” “I exercised and I thought he was capable,” he explained.

In addition, Coach Hyun explained that the allegations of preferential treatment for children and the controversy over his involvement in Whimoon Middle School’s basketball team were not true.

Meanwhile, Director Hyun runs the YouTube channel ‘Mukboss Jjuyeop’ with 760,000 subscribers. He also appears regularly on the YouTube channel ‘Two Sports Club Came’.
