Patrick Caster to Step Down as President of St. John’s Hospitals
Patrick Caster, president of Dignity Health’s St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John’s Hospital Camarillo, California, will depart his role on October 31, 2024, according to a September 11, 2024, memo reported by the ventura County Star.
As of September 24, 2024, CommonSpirit health has begun a search for his replacement.

Caster’s Career with Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health
Caster initially joined Dignity Health (now part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health) in 2017 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles. He later served as president and CEO of Memorial hospital of gardena, California.
He returned to Dignity Health in 2022, assuming the role of president and CEO of French Hospital medical Center in San luis Obispo, California. Caster began leading St. john’s Hospitals in 2024, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
