Diljit Dosanjh to Headline Inaugural Billboard Summit Canada

The first-ever Billboard Summit Canada will feature Punjabi music sensation Diljit Dosanjh as a special guest speaker. The summit launches June 11, 2025, at Toronto’s TIFF Lightbox during the NXNE festival.
Dosanjh,known for his record-breaking Dil-Luminati tour,made history with stadium concerts in Vancouver and Toronto,marking the largest Punjabi music events outside India. He recently showcased Punjabi culture at the Met Gala.
At the summit, Dosanjh will be interviewed by Panos A. Panay, president of the Recording Academy.
Billboard Canada also announced that Daniel Caesar will perform at The Stage at NXNE on June 14, returning to The mod Club, where he played his first major headlining show. The venue will revert to its original name, The Mod Club, for the first time sence 2021.
Caesar’s performance at The Mod Club offers an intimate experience for fans who have supported him since his early days. In 2023, he performed at Madison Square garden and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.

Quebec is considering stricter language regulations for streaming services. culture Minister Mathieu Lacombe introduced a bill on May 21 to increase French-language content on platforms like netflix and Spotify.
The proposed legislation aims to boost the discoverability and accessibility of French-language content by establishing quotas. Lacombe noted that only 8.5% of music streamed in Quebec is local or French-language.
The bill would require platforms to display their default interfaces in French and could impose financial penalties for non-compliance. Companies unable to comply may negotiate alternative arrangements with the Quebec government.
