Director Atlee Credits Vijay for His Comfort Zone in Bollywood Film with Shah Rukh Khan

Well-renowned director Atlee attributes Vijay as the driving force behind his venture into Bollywood, specifically his upcoming film Jawaan starring Shah Rukh Khan. At the audio launch of Jawaan in Chennai, Atlee expressed his gratitude towards Vijay for putting him in a comfortable position to take on this new challenge in the Hindi film industry.

After the success of Rajarani, Theri, Mersal, and Bigil, I was at ease and content with my career. Life was good. It was during this time that I received the opportunity to direct a Bollywood film alongside Shah Rukh Khan. When asked for his opinion on the matter, Vijay encouraged me to go ahead with the project. His support became my first inspiration to step out of my comfort zone,” shared Atlee, who also revealed that the production of Jawaan faced delays due to the Covid pandemic.

Jawaan, produced by Gauri Khan and Gauav Verma under the esteemed Red Chillies banner, is set for a worldwide release in three languages on September 7. The film features Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and Nayanthara as the leading lady. Rumor has it, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a double role. Furthermore, the movie boasts appearances from Priyamani, Yogi Babu, Deepika Padukone, Vijay, and Sanjay Dutt in cameo roles. The soundtrack for Jawaan is composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichander. The distribution is handled by AA Films and Yash Raj Films.

I was in my comfort zone after doing Rajarani, Theri, Mersal and Bigil. Life was good then. That’s when I got an opportunity to do a Bollywood film with Shah Rukh Khan. When Vijay was asked about his opinion in this regard, he said that he has to make the film for sure. That was my first inspiration. That’s why I decided to leave my comfort zone. I am an ardent Vijay fan, said Atlee. Atlee added that Jawaan, which was supposed to be completed in eight months, has been delayed due to Covid and the film is gearing up for release after years of hard work.

Produced by Gauri Khan and Gauav Verma under the Red Chillies banner, Jaawan will release worldwide in three languages ​​on September 7. Gokulam Movies is distributing the film in Kerala. Vijay Sethupathi is the villain in the film where Nayanthara is the heroine. It is said that Shahrukh will appear in a double role in the film. The film also stars Priyamani and Yogi Babu.
