“Dispatch” Puts Players⁣ in the Role of⁤ Superhero Dispatcher

‍ Updated ⁤June 15, 2025

Tired ⁤of open-world superhero adventures and fighting games?‌ AdHoc studio’s upcoming game, Dispatch, offers a different take on the genre.players take on the role of Robert Robertson, formerly known‌ as Mecha Man, ‌who now works as a dispatcher for a team of misfit superheroes.

After his mech ‌suit was destroyed, Robertson finds himself managing a D-List team, a “motley crew of dangerous fuck-ups,” according to one of his colleagues, another former ⁢superhero whose powers caused rapid aging. The gameplay in Dispatch revolves around matching the⁣ right hero to the job, from stopping robberies to rescuing balloons.

While the point-and-click assignment‍ gameplay is engaging, the choice-based dialogue is a key draw. AdHoc Studio, formed ‍by developers who previously worked ‌on Telltale Games titles like ⁤ The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead, brings‍ a similar⁢ style ⁢to Dispatch. Players’‍ choices as Robertson will have consequences, influencing his relationships with the other characters.

The game also explores the corporatization of superheroes, similar⁣ to the ‌themes in The Boys. These heroes⁢ are not⁤ patrolling vigilantes but employees awaiting assignments. The cast features A-list ⁣voice talent, including Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, Aaron Paul, and Jeffrey Wright.

The⁤ game’s humor is apparent early on, with jokes that may appeal to a younger‍ audience. Dispatch was⁢ revealed‌ at The game Awards six months ago.
