Ploom Dive is a spatial video content that uses the latest Apple Vision Pro technology to enjoy the Ploom smoking experience in a digital space surrounded by marine life. Using the power of Apple Vision Pro, we offer a new kind of relaxation experience where reality and digital intersect, which takes place in two different scenes and turns the 5 minutes of puffing in which you enjoy the tobacco heated by Ploom into something special.

Shigetaka Fukumoto, brand manager of Japan Tobacco’s product planning department, says, “The modern smoking environment forces people to smoke in small spaces or in crowded smoking areas. For example, if you’re a tenant in a large building, you might have to go to the smoking area in the basement and wait in line to finally get a cigarette. At the very least, we want people to enjoy Ploom, and we’ve been trying to figure out what we can do to make that happen.” Based on this idea, we came up with Ploom Dive, developed in collaboration with Graffity.

This time, Ploom Dive was co-developed with Graffity, a startup that provides entertainment using AR technology. According to CEO Toshiaki Morimoto, “The main features of Ploom Dive are the following four points.”

• Provides an interactive experience with a lifelike whale, where light and movement intersect underwater.
• Real-time spatial mapping and specular reflection create a realistic digital experience.
• The beautiful sparkling water surface and light connect reality and another world.
• A deep relaxation experience created by slow movements and sounds.

When you wear Apple Vision Pro, you can take full advantage of the device’s realistic drawing power and see whales and tropical fish appear before your eyes. With an immersive underwater soundtrack, you can enjoy a relaxing moment as you observe majestic whales and tropical fish while smoking Ploom.
