“Do you want to have dinner?” Porn actress Stormy Daniels testifies against Trump

On Tuesday, former porn star Stormy Daniels testified against former US President Donald Trump in the criminal trial he is undergoing in New York after taking the oath.

The actress, named Stephanie Clifford, entered the crowded courtroom in Manhattan, and sat in the witness seat to the left of the jury facing Trump, according to the British newspaper The Guardian.

Daniels recounted what happened in 2006 when she met Trump on the sidelines of a golf tournament. She said that he sent one of his security personnel to ask her, “Mr. Trump would like to know if I would like to have dinner with him!”

Daniels confirmed that she had a sexual relationship with the billionaire at his hotel, words that Trump categorically denies.

Daniels highlighted in detail a conversation they had in the hotel suite, where she found Trump “wearing silk or satin pajamas,” which she said made fun of her. Trump offered her to appear on his television show, “The Apprentice,” after that, but it did not happen.

Daniels received $130,000 at the end of the 2016 presidential election campaign, ten years after they met, in exchange for remaining silent.

Trump’s lawyer, Susan Neechlis, filed an objection with the judge to allow Daniels to testify. “It is unjustifiably harmful,” Nechlis told Judge Juan Merchan.

Trump has been appearing before a jury since April 15 on charges of forging 34 documents, where he faces the risk of a criminal conviction and prison sentence.

Since the Wall Street Journal revealed that the amount was paid in January 2018, during the middle of Trump’s presidential term, he has worked to deny the existence of a relationship with the former American porn star. He also attacked her credibility, calling her “horse-faced.”
