DOJ Releases Over 3 Million Pages of Jeffrey Epstein Documents

The Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of documents,more than 2,000 videos,and 180,000 images related to Jeffrey Epstein on Friday,December 19,2025,following criticism regarding compliance with a new federal law.
The Epstein Openness Act
The release fulfills a requirement under the federal law passed in November 2025, mandating the public release of all files related to Jeffrey Epstein. This law, informally known as the Epstein Transparency Act, aimed to increase public access to information surrounding the convicted sex offender.
According to CNBC, the law stipulated all possibly responsive files be released by December 19, 2025.
Scope of the release
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the release, specifying it includes over 3 million pages of documents, in addition to more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. However,the DOJ is not releasing the remaining pages of the more than 6 million total pages identified as potentially relevant.
Victim Response
A group of Epstein’s victims issued a statement criticizing the Department of Justice for what they described as an “incomplete” release of the files. They contend the release does not represent full transparency.
