Dominika Gottová, the daughter of the late singer Karel Gott, finds herself in financial distress following the death of her mother, Antonie Zacpalová, who passed away at the age of 91, Žena.cz reported. Living in a social apartment in Helsinki with her husband Timo Tolkki, Gottová admitted to Blesk that she lacks the funds needed to travel home to the Czech Republic and arrange her mother’s funeral.
Financial Struggles and Plea for Help
Following the death of Antonie Zacpalová, who passed away at the age of 91 in a Prague nursing home, Dominika found herself unable to cover travel and funeral expenses. She stated that her husband, Timo Tolkki, made the request for financial help to stepmother Ivana Gottová on her behalf. “Musím se teď dostat do Česka a po maminčině smrti převzít její věci a domluvit se na pohřbu,” Gottová said on Wednesday while still in Helsinki.
Background of the Family Relationships
Antonie Zacpalová was a former dancer and soloist in the Karlín Musical Theatre dance ensemble who met Karel Gott in the late 1960s. After giving birth to Dominika, Karel Gott eventually took responsibility for her, and later in life, Zacpalová lived in a Prague apartment bought by the singer. As utility costs and maintenance grew too high, she moved into a care home, where Ivana Gottová had previously contributed to the housing payments before stopping the financial support following a disagreement with Dominika.
Unresolved Questions
As Dominika Gottová deals with her grief and attempts to secure funds for the journey to Prague, it remains unconfirmed whether Ivana Gottová will provide the requested financial assistance for the travel and funeral arrangements. The current status of the original apartment purchased by Karel Gott also remains unclear.
