A Donegal couple are to feature in a new documentary on same-sex marriage which will be broadcast on TG4.

They will form part of I accept you, an intimate and reflective Irish-language documentary marking a decade since Ireland made history in 2015, when it became the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage by public referendum. Blending love story, political reckoning, and cultural memory, the film follows the people who helped shape that journey and those now living its legacy.

At the heart of this film is the wedding of Seán and David, a quiet, deeply personal moment in the Donegal Gaeltacht, a world away from the crowds at Dublin Castle, yet only possible as of them. Around them, we meet some of the most influential voices in Ireland’s LGBTQ+ story: Senator David Norris, activist and archivist Tonie Walsh, journalist and activist Lisa Nic an Bhreithimh, and Ruadhán Ó Críodáin, an activist and director of ShoutOut – each reflecting on the past, reckoning with the present, and looking towards the future.
