Seasonal Influenza Vaccination for High-Risk Groups in Jincheon County
Jincheon County has announced that it will conduct the ’24th-25th seasonal influenza vaccination’ for children, pregnant women, and seniors over 65 years old at 28 contracted medical institutions in the county until April 30th of next year.
The first influenza vaccination in life has been carried out for children since September 20th, and from October 2nd, it will be carried out for children under 13 years of age (those eligible for the first vaccination) and pregnant women.
Starting October 11, influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered at contracted medical institutions to seniors aged 65 and older.
Individuals can check the contracted medical institutions on the Vaccination Assistant website or the Jincheon County Health Center website.
When visiting a vaccination center, identification is required to confirm the exact vaccination target; children require a copy of their resident registration or national health insurance card, and pregnant women require a maternal handbook.
Free Flu Vaccinations for Vulnerable and High-Risk Groups
The military will provide free flu vaccinations for vulnerable and high-risk groups at public health centers and each public health branch from October 14 to 18 (operating hours: 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.).
The target group includes patients with chronic diseases, severe disabilities, people with national merit, basic livelihood security recipients, and AI-related workers aged 14 to 64.
When receiving a vaccination, patients with chronic diseases must bring a prescription or medical certificate with the disease code written on it. Disease codes eligible for free vaccination can be found on the Jincheon County website.
Other eligible individuals must bring an ID card and a certificate proving their eligibility (basic livelihood security recipient certificate, disabled person registration card, national merit certificate).
Importance of Vaccination for High-Risk Groups
A military official emphasized the importance of vaccination for children, pregnant women, and the elderly, who are at high risk of severe influenza. The official added that vaccinating the elderly over 65 years of age against influenza and COVID-19 at the same time will help create a healthy community.
