Dozens Guard La Nyalla’s House During KPK Search
KPK Searches Ex-Senate Leader’s Home; Youth Group stands Guard
SURABAYA, Indonesia – Dozens of members of the pancasila Youth (PP), a nationalist association, stood guard Monday as Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency, known as the KPK, searched the Surabaya home of La Nyalla Mattalitti, former Chairman of the Regional representative Council (DPD RI), according to a representative of the group.
The search took place in the Wisma Permai Barat area of Mulyorejo, Surabaya. Members wearing the organization’s red and black uniforms where seen congregated around the property, with several vehicles parked nearby.
Pancasila Youth Presence Explained
Rohmad Amrullah,chairman of the Legal Counseling and Defense Agency (LPPH) for Surabaya’s Pancasila Youth,stated that the group’s presence was a show of solidarity with La Nyalla,who previously served as the General Chairperson of the East Java pancasila Youth National Leadership Council (MPN).
“He is one of us,” Rohmad said, referring to La nyalla. “The extended family of Pancasila Youth felt compelled to be present when their former leader’s home was subject to a search.”
Search Conducted During Holiday Gathering
Rohmad added that the gathering also coincided with a post-Eid al-Fitr Halal bi Halal, a traditional celebratory gathering.
According to Rohmad, La Nyalla was not present during the search, only household staff and security personnel were at the residence.

Rohmad stated that the KPK searched two properties belonging to La Nyalla in the Wisma Permai Barat area. He claimed that investigators did not recover any evidence during the searches.
“After searching both residences, nothing related to the Kusnadi case was found,” Rohmad asserted. “There were no items seized.”
Cooperation with Investigation Pledged
Despite the search, Rohmad emphasized that La Nyalla, in his capacity as the former Chairperson of the East java pancasila Youth National Leadership Council (MPN), remains committed to cooperating with the ongoing legal process.
“Our principle is to respect and abide by the law,” Rohmad stated. “The KPK arrived with a warrant, which was presented, and we allowed them to carry out their duties without obstruction.”
