Dragon’s Blaze: 150,000 Flock to Tai Kok Tsui Temple Fair for Dazzling 500-Foot Luminous Finale
Tai Kok Tsui Temple Fair Celebrates 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China
The Tai Kok Tsui Temple Fair was grandly held in Tai Kok Tsui, attracting over 150,000 participants, including local and foreign tourists. This year’s temple fair has the theme of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
This year is the 17th Tai Kok Tsui Temple Fair, supported by Sino Group and Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, organized by the Mong Kok Kaifong Association, and co-organized and sponsored by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office. The event kicked off with an opening ceremony at 10 am, followed by a temple fair parade.
Exciting Activities and Performances
The temple fair held a number of exciting activities throughout the day, including a grand parade with 27 teams and a thousand people participating. The parade included lion dancing, dragon dancing, Qing Dynasty costumes, children’s performances, and more.
In the afternoon, the “Kwok’s Kung Fu Golden Dragon Lion Dance Troupe” presented a traditional plum blossom pile performance, with 18 dancing lions flying and leaping, as well as live lion dancing and drumming to support the celebration.
Community Integration and Cultural Exchange
50 specialty street stalls were set up on both sides of Fuk Chuen Street, with the Mong Kok Neighborhood Association allocating 30 stalls for community members, young people, and unemployed people to sell authentic food, as well as ethnic minorities to sell authentic food, creating community integration.
Poon Choi Banquet and Evening Performances
In the evening, a Poon Choi Banquet for 1,000 people was held at the event, with 140 tables open to entertain guests, neighbors, and tourists. Everyone gathered together to experience Hong Kong’s unique food culture and tradition.
The finale of the night included a 500-foot-long luminous dragon and the “Sha Tau Kok Fish Lantern Dance” performance. For the first time, the street lights were turned off in Fuquan Street, and the luminous dragon and colorful fish came out one after another to the sound of drums. A special fireworks section was added to climax the whole-day event.

Sino Group Asset Management Director Cai Bilin said that the group and Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation fully support this event. The Tai Kok Tsui Temple Fair is a cultural event in Hong Kong, held every year and very popular among the public. The luminous dragon performance is even more shocking and exciting.
Olympian City, a part of Tai Kok Tsui, has specially arranged free shuttle buses to shuttle citizens to and from Olympian City and the temple fair. It also provides free food and merchant discounts, hoping to celebrate this cultural event with the general public.
