Drake released three surprise albums on May 15, 2026, including the project Iceman, which features a reunion with Future on the song Ran to Atlanta
.
The simultaneous release of Iceman, Habibti, and Maid Of Honour followed a livestream in which Drake displayed three hard drives to announce the projects. According to Rolling Stone, the rapper accompanied the reveal with the text, I made this so that I could make this
.
The song Ran to Atlanta
, which also features Molly Santana, marks the first time Drake and Future have appeared on a track together since 2022. The collaboration comes after a period of public tension and a high-profile rift between the two artists that began to surface in 2023.
Reporting from XXL notes that the relationship between the two rappers deteriorated significantly in March 2024, when Future and Metro Boomin released the album We Don’t Trust You. That project included several veiled shots at Drake and featured the single Like That
, in which Kendrick Lamar targeted Drake.
The release of Like That
triggered one of the most significant rap battles in recent history between Drake and Lamar. During this conflict, Drake suggested on his response track Push Ups
that Future was being manipulated into the feud by Metro Boomin. While neither artist spoke directly about the cause of their friendship’s collapse for two years, speculation persisted regarding the nature of the fissure.
Signs of a reconciliation appeared in April 2026, when Future was seen wearing apparel from Drake’s Nike Nocta brand, leading to industry speculation that the two had mended their relationship behind the scenes.
The Iceman album serves as Drake’s first solo release following the 2024 battle with Kendrick Lamar. The project provides a window into Drake’s perspective on the conflict, specifically addressing Lamar’s Grammy-winning diss track Not Like Us
, which referred to Drake as a Certified Pedophile
.
On Iceman, Drake criticizes Lamar’s public image, including a line stating, White kids listen to you cuz they feelin’ some guilt
.
Drake also uses the album to expand on claims that Universal Music Group (UMG) engaged in fraudulent activity to boost the popularity of Not Like Us
. He alleges that 100 million streams for Lamar disappeared from the count, supporting his ongoing assertions that the label used bots to inflate the song’s numbers.
The Iceman project features a wide array of collaborators and production credits. Production was handled by longtime collaborator Noah 40
Shebib, as well as Overkst and OK. Guest appearances on the album include 21 Savage, Molly Santana, Shane Gillis, and DJ Akademiks.
Prior to the full album drop on May 15, 2026, Drake had teased the songs What Did I Miss?
and National Treasure
during previous episodes of his livestream; both tracks appear on the final version of Iceman.
