According to the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, officers intercepted the motorist, identified only by his surname A, at approximately 3:00 p.m. along National Route 44 in Jueumchi-ri, Hwachon-myeon. Investigators determined that the driver reached top speeds of 157 kilometers per hour in a zone where the legal limit is restricted to 80 kilometers per hour.
Tracking 22 Violations in Ten Minutes
Police tracking data showed that the motorist committed approximately 22 separate traffic violations over a span of roughly 10 minutes. Officers confirmed that the vehicle traveled at speeds exceeding 140 kilometers per hour on 31 distinct occasions during the pursuit.
Investigators reported that the driver failed to maintain safe following distances from other motorists and executed frequent lane changes without properly signaling his intentions. The suspect also drove through an intersection by utilizing a right-turn lane to bypass normal traffic and move straight past law-abiding vehicles.
