Dubai Celebrates First Anniversary of Children’s Immigration Counter at Airport

Dubai: The first anniversary of the establishment of a children’s immigration counter at the Dubai International Airport was celebrated with elaborate ceremonies.

Launched on April 19, 2023, these platforms have been used by 565,661 children so far. Officials said the initiative had been well received by passengers within a year. In 2023 alone, 434,889 children used the Passport platform. In the first quarter of 2024, 118,586 children benefited from the counter.

This is the first dedicated passport counter in the world for children aged between 4 and 12 years. It gives children the opportunity to stamp their own passports and make the travel experience more enjoyable. Currently, all terminals at the airport have children’s passport counters.

At the celebration ceremony held at Terminal 3, GDRFA Dubai Chief Lt. General Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri, Deputy Commander Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Surur and Assistant Director of Immigration Dubai Airport Talal Ahmad Al Shankiti were present. Children were also present at the ceremony.

Lt Gen said. Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri that Dubai is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, especially children who represent the future generation.
